Happy Autumn!
I don't know about you, but I LOVE Fall and Thanksgiving!  Now there aren't many leaves changing here  in the Phoenix area, but you can feel the weather getting cooler . . . ever so slightly (lol)!  But that's okay because our winters are so comfortable.  There's a reason so many move here from colder climes!
This year as usual, I have LOTS to be thankful for:  I have my health, my abundant family and lots of friends!  Also my band Ant Farm is finally coming out with our album "Used To Be" early next year!  Keep checking here or follow us on Facebook (Ant Farm Redux) for news and details about our CD release party and where to get our music.
Here are my upcoming solo and band show dates (for those who don't know, I'm the bassist vocalist for both Ant Farm and JC & The Rockers):

Sunday, November 10th
JC & THE ROCKERS
North Mountain Blues, Brews, & Arts Festival
North Mountain Brewery:  522 E. Dunlap Ave. - Phoenix, AZ 85020
Festival is 11:00am - 5:00pm, JCR plays 12:10 - 1:00pm

Friday, November 15th
SOLO
Winery 101:
9299 W. Olive Ave., Suite 101, Peoria, AZ 85345
5:00 - 7:00pm

Saturday, November 16th
JC & THE ROCKERS
The River Bottom Bar & Grill:
2501 Arizona 79. - Florence, AZ 85132
2:00 - 6:00pm

Friday, November 22nd
JC & THE ROCKERS
The Handlebar Pub & Grill:
650 Apache Trail, Apache Junction, AZ 85120
7:00 - 10:00pm

Saturday, November 23rd
JC & THE ROCKERS
The Mountain View Pub:
7033 E. Cave Creek Rd., Cave Creek, AZ 85331
6:00 - 10:00pm

Enjoy your Fall!  Hope to see you soon!

Hello, All:
I know it's been awhile. . . sorry about that!  But I'm still here and going strong, and you can definitely always see what's going on with me as a musician on Facebook (see my personal page under "Rob DeFriese," and my performer's page under "Rob DeFriese Music").

So a lot is happening, this month like any other.  The most exciting news is that "the end is near" regarding my band, Ant Farm's album release!  It includes my "solo" material, and we're in the final stages of mixing/mastering. We'll be releasing the album this Fall, so keep an eye out!  You'll be able to buy on CDBaby and Amazon, and we'll submit for streaming services as well, although you can stream my (and the band's) music and see full show calendars on our ReverbNation pages:
www.reverbnation.com/robdefriese
www.reverbnation.com/antfarm3
www.reverbnation.com/jcthejukerockers

Here's where you can catch me (solo, acoustic), Ant Farm, and JC & The Rockers in August. (Don't forget -- JC is the guitarist/vocalist for Ant Farm, and I sing and play bass for JC & The Rockers, which is JC's blues/classic rock, mostly-cover band.)
AUGUST DATES:
Fri-Aug. 9th - JC & The Rockers @ Fibber Magee's (Chandler), 8 - 11:30pm
Sat-Aug. 10th - JC & The Rockers @ The Handlebar Pub (Apache Junction), 7 - 10pm
Fri-Aug.  16th - Rob DeFriese @ Winery 101 (Peoria), 5-7pm
Fri-Aug. 23rd - JC & The Rockers @ The Handlebar Pub (Apache Junction), 7 - 10pm
Sat-Aug. 24th - Rob DeFriese @ Winery 101 (Peoria), 5-7pm

*Fri-Aug. 30th - Ant Farm @ Pho Cao (Scottsdale), 10-11pm*
Sat-Aug. 31st - Rob DeFriese @ Vino di Sedona (Sedona), 3:30-6pm

(* - Ant Farm's first show in many moons!)

if you're going back to school, best of luck!  And enjoy the rest of your summer, everybody!
Much love,
Rob

Happy, Merry Holidays & A wonderful New year!!

For the first time as a musician I got a bit overwhelmed this year. I had a lot of bookings and some interviews (Radio and print) It was wonderful. However, it was still overwhelming. I haven't posted anything for awhile on this blog and I am going to change that in 2019. I actually enjoy writing here.

But enough of that for now. It's time to say Merry Christmas & Happy, Happy New Year. Or, if you don't celebrate Christmas. I hope you enjoy the new year and have a wonderful season.
Onward to 2019-
Rob

I've got a new gig!  For the foreseeable future, I'll be  "jammin" as bassist/vocalist with a groovy blues & rock cover band, 'JC & The Juke Rockers.'  JC is actually Ant Farm's guitarist, but it's  a different project so it's actually a different band . . . we're not pulling an Andy from Parks & Rec! (Rat Mouse becomes Mouse Rat, hahaha!)

Anyway... If you're a cool cat or wanna get out, dawg, or you just want to hear some good tunes.... Here's where we'll/I be. And you can still catch me playing out solo, of course!  I hope you are enjoying the beginnings of Spring, If you are in a place where you can actually notice!

'Happy Thanksgiving!
And yes, I'll add my humble two cents to the collective coin pile regarding gratitude.  There are all the things for which we can be grateful.  Myself, I have many:  My good health; an abundant and loving family; a loving, compassionate, and sexy girlfriend (cue whistle!); all my friends, old and new; the success I've had so far in my music career.

But I'd also like to mention the "attitude of Gratitude" talked about by many inspirational speakers.  It's the effect of gratitude:  How being grateful helps us to be happier, and ultimately brings us more in life, because it keeps us "in the flow," open to the abundance of the universe.

It's not easy to keep the attitude.  We naturally bring attention to what's wrong, but then we often get stuck in it.  I hope you'll join me in constantly trying to make a habit of gratitude.  I know it's corny, but I try to follow the advice in the song "Count Your Blessings" from the old movie "Holiday Inn" (one of my Grandma Crowley's favorites):

"When I'm worried and I can't sleep, I count my blessings instead of sheep, and I fall asleep counting my blessings!  When my bankroll is gettin' small, I think of when I had none at all, and I fall asleep counting my blessings!"
